Car-T Case Study
Project Type: Usage and Behavioral Study
Study Type: Primary Research
Timeline: 6 Weeks
Methodology: CATI + CAWI
About the study
- The aim of the study is to understand foreign patients traveling to Singapore for medical care, specifically in the therapeutic areas of pediatric leukemia and Advanced/ aggressive adult lymphoma.
- Through the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, immune cells termed T cells (a subtype of white blood cells) may be modified in the lab to recognize and eradicate cancer cells. Because it entails changing the genes within T-cells to enable them to fight cancer, CAR T-cell therapy is also occasionally referred to as a form of cell-based gene therapy.
Our Solution
- We targeted both private and public hospitals in some specific Asian nations, which include Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. Healthcare professionals, Singapore patients who received treatment there, and medical council members were used to gather data for the study.
- To better understand the challenges involved with receiving therapy, being treated by a doctor, or receiving assistance with money and travel, we conducted interviews with the targeted profiles in several countries. The target audience gave thorough information through in-depth phone and video interviews.
Key Finding
- HCPs mainly do not refers SG for treatment, most of the time patient self refer to SG treatment.”- HCP, Vietnam.
- 40-50 % of patients from Indonesia, travel to SG for this therapy. This is because of lack of medication or availability of treatment in their own country- HCP, Singapore.
- People self refer to SG for treatment maybe they do not have access to medication or they have perception that medication is safer” – HCP, Singapore.
