Key Findings

The COVID-19 epidemic that started in November 2019 has a significant negative influence on public health services all around the world. The need for the diagnosis of COVID-19 infections peaked during the epidemic. In order to diagnose COVID-19 infections, companies began outsourcing the production of IVD devices, and production of other IVD products was stopped. As a result of social exclusion and supply chain interruptions, hospitals are seeing fewer patients, which has resulted in a reduction in the outsourcing of various IVD equipment. Additionally, because to local, national, and worldwide lockdowns or travel restrictions, logistics were also impacted. With the increase in their costs, there was a shortage of raw resources. The COVID-19 pandemic presented several commercial problems on a global scale, which had a detrimental effect on the expansion of the IVD contract manufacturing services sector.
